PETER CLARKE
Join us for an evening with distinguished historian Peter Clarke as we celebrate the release of his new book
Mr. Churchill's Profession
Tuesday June 5th at 7:30p.m. Fairfield United Church 1303 Fairfield Rd. (at Moss St.) Tickets $5 from Munro's Books
Though much written about as a statesman and world leader, surprisingly little attention has been given to Churchill’s life as a writer. Writing was in fact his primary means of earning a living and earned him the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953. This engaging narrative gives particular attention to the making of his four-volume History of the English-Speaking Peoples, showing the epic themes that shaped his philosophy and world view. Professor Clarke leaves us awestruck by the prodigious energy and vision of this larger-than-life figure.
